How the sustainability management handbook came about

A reference book? A management handbook? Useful in practice? Concrete yet discreet? For experienced sustainability managers and executives as well as newcomers? Universally relevant and personal at the same time? Motivating and eye-opening without moralizing? Easy to read and attractively designed?

There were many expectations for this sustainability management handbook when Anke Steinbach fleshed out the idea in early 2020, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic began. When the first order came in online in early 2021, layout and copyediting were still in their final stages.

“Do you speak sustainability?” is a labor of love. Anke Steinbach loves reading and writing, has a passion for sustainability and transformation, and carefully drafted, researched, and refined every topic and every page. Some figures, examples, and trends are now outdated, while many topics, contents, and broad lines remain relevant.

The design and production were by the talented Anna Beddig from Hamburg, who embarked on this joint adventure. Thank you forever!
